We Enjoyed Our Time at the CASS Annual Dinner!

We’re proud to have supported a fundraiser that uplifts our community.

On Friday, the 21st, a few of our team members had the pleasure of attending the Cass Community Social Services Annual Dinner at St. John’s Resort on Five Mile Road. This dinner and silent auction helped benefit the community by fighting poverty and fostering opportunities for its members. Joselyn Benson, Michigan’s Secretary of State was a surprise guest with a few quick words to get the evening started.

DETROIT, MI — On January 23, local managed IT provider XFER and numerous other businesses supported this year’s edition of Soup City, the Coalition On Temporary Shelter’s fundraiser against homelessness and generational poverty at downtown Detroit’s Roostertail.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and XFER is thrilled to be part of the “Walk of Trees 2024” at Kellogg Park! This beloved local tradition transforms the park into a festive wonderland, with over 80 Christmas trees beautifully decorated by community groups and businesses.

Last week, two representatives from XFER traveled to Orlando, Florida, to attend IT Nation Connect 2024, one of the year's most important IT channel conferences. 

On November 8, the First Step - You Are The Light Gala was held at Laurel Manor, raising funds for a very worthy but heartbreaking purpose: to support and raise awareness of survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

We’re Excited for the Chance to Bring the Spirit of Autumn to Our Community

If you noticed the 100 scarecrows popping up in Kellogg Park in Plymouth, don’t be alarmed… it’s simply a fun community activity we’re happy to participate in this year!

Once again, the XFER Communications family had a wonderful time at their company picnic on September 22 at Livonia’s Rotary Park. Our team members and their families came out to spend a pleasant day mingling with one another and enjoying the chance to socialize away from the office.

On September 9, XFER was at Plum Hollow Country Club to help support Cass Community Social Services in its fight against poverty and homelessness in Detroit. The organization’s efforts are invaluable, providing thousands of meals each week and delivering critical services like health and job programs to those in need around Detroit.

On Saturday, August 24th, four of our team members were at the Links of Novi, enjoying a beautiful course, quality driving ranges, and meals throughout the day. While we’ll keep our scores a secret, we will share that this event was a wonderful time.

We’re all about supporting our community, and when an opportunity arises that includes golf, food, raffles, and drinks… well, participating in it seems like a bit of a no-brainer.

We are pleased to announce that we made the 2024 edition of the MSP 501 list. The MSP 501 list is a ranked collection of managed service providers from around the world, assembled by Channel Futures based on their unique ranking system. The 501 list is meant to acknowledge those MSPs that are forward-focused, keeping their fingers on the market’s pulse to adapt to changes and best serve their clients. 

This past weekend, several of our dedicated team members volunteered their time and efforts to support Cass Community Social Services, one of our favorite local organizations. Our team packed 140 bagged lunches, picked fresh strawberries, mopped floors, organized and dusted shelves, prepared a huge batch of spaghetti, and whipped up some delicious pasta salad, among other tasks.

On May 28th we held a successful “over lunch” workshop for area businesses in part with the Flint & Genesee Chamber. We covered a lot of ground with everything included in our session intended to educate our attendees on protecting their companies, themselves, and their team members. 

By doing so, we had the chance to meet other technology professionals and hear more perspectives on today’s hot topics in IT. The Scale Computing Platform Summit, held at Resorts World from April 16th through the 18th, allowed its attendees to learn more about and discuss automation, data protection, edge computing, hybrid cloud, and other modern information technology topics.

XFER has always been a family business. It started in 1994 when Mike Hartke, the father of our current CEO Brandon Hartke, started providing wide-area networks and digital equipment servers.

During the early years, the business expanded into telephony through the acquisition of an existing company. This led to XFER's expertise in unified communications integration between data and voice networks. A transition into the role of a managed service provider was easy, given the relationships established by working with area businesses.

XFER is proud to announce the launch of our new website at www.xfer.com. The goal of the new website is to make it easier for our existing clients to submit and manage support requests, and provide more information about our services for prospective clients.

We are thrilled to announce our participation in the upcoming Plymouth Community Chamber of Commerce event, "Spring Fever in the Park." Hosted at Kellogg Park in Plymouth, MI, this delightful gathering promises fun and excitement for all ages.

On March 15, 2024 several team members of the XFER team participated in the CCSS Annual Dinner. It was a wonderful night and a great event to support this area nonprofit. The event successfully raised more than $245,000.
